Fintech Finance 35

Institutional Investor’s Fintech Finance 35 turns a spotlight on the financiers who fund fintech innovation. They include deal makers at various stages of the investment cycle as well as facilitators of the incubating, mentoring and capital-raising ecosystems who accelerate promising financial start-ups’ paths to commercialization.

The Fintech Finance 35 ranking is compiled by Institutional Investor editors and staff, with nominations and input from industry participants and experts. The evaluation criteria included individual achievements and leadership at the respective firms, influence in the community at large, and the size, reputation and impact of the respective funds and institutions in the financial technology industry — particularly in the current wave of fintech financing.

The Tech 50

Institutional Investor’s Tech 50 honors the visionaries, innovators and leaders in financial technology. These leaders think big about the global or macro implications of technology-driven change and relate such developments to their organizations’ and customers’ on-the-ground challenges and opportunities; set budget, investment and R&D priorities; and devise solutions.

The Tech 50 ranking is compiled by Institutional Investor editors and staff, with nominations and input from industry participants and experts. Four primary sets of attributes were evaluated: achievements and contributions over the course of a career; scope and complexity of responsibilities; influence and leadership inside and outside the organization; and pure technological innovation.

Trading Technology 40

Institutional Investor’s Trading Technology 40 recognizes the trading technology innovators and visionaries, including leaders who build and maintain systems, respond to increased regulation and compliance and stay abreast of, and push the envelope with, the latest high-tech trading advances.

The Trading Technology 40 winners are selected by Institutional Investor editors, taking into account nominations and other input from industry experts. The leadership criteria include recent and career accomplishments and contributions to individual companies and to the industry at large; scope and complexity of executive responsibilities; and pure technological innovation. In the profiles, last year’s rank is shown in parentheses; “PNR” denotes “previously not ranked.”
